Chris Fallon is a school improvement consultant with over fifteen years’ experience and has worked with over one hundred senior leadership teams in primary, secondary and tertiary phases to improve provision and raise achievement. He has worked in a senior capacity in LAs where he has developed successful bespoke school improvement frameworks which have helped schools make significant progress.
Chris is interested in the strategic development of teaching and learning and has produced a model that helps simplify and shape teaching and has used this as a basis of in-school and regional training. The model has been further developed into a tool that supports a 360° review of the effectiveness of an individual’s teaching linked to a personal improvement plan. It is currently being piloted in schools.
An OfSTED inspector since 2002, Chris provides training for schools on inspection preparation. He is also a qualified School Improvement Partner and has been responsible for managing a SIP team in a shire authority.
He has also worked for QCA and the DFE on assessment issues and the use of assessment information to better inform teaching. He has led national conferences on this subject. Recently Chris has worked with school partnerships on developing and implementing an improvement strategy.
In his role as a consultant he has worked with a range of schools leading reviews, co-designing and delivering leadership training and supporting school self –evaluation. He enjoys an ongoing relationship with a number of schools who value the quality of his support and advice.

Notable Achievements
Led Middlesbrough LA through a successful re-inspection of arrangements school improvement.
Helped Leicester LA move from a position where it was under a notice to improve to one where 25% of secondary schools were outstanding.
