Sassparella wowed an enthralled packed house at the opening night of the Bath International Festival.
This version of Mr Blue Sky took a lot of thought in terms of an arrangement. Jeff Lynne’s epic is about six minutes long, with instrumental textures and changes of rhythm and keys.
I tried to get the wonderful textures of the chorus by splitting the choir into six parts as the theme is repeated…and then the big ending!
Sassparella are going from strength to strength. My wife Cindy (conducting) and I are absolutely delighted!
